Why should I talk to a qualified appraiser?
Because appraisers are an informed, unbiased third party. You should never get your values from someone who is offering to buy your piece from you or might have some other interest in the values being higher or lower than they should be. It is recommended to speak to an unbiased third party who follows a regulated and ethical procedure to produce consistent results, such as an ISA appraiser.
